June-July 2010
I just heard that Al Capone Shines My Shoes won the Northern California Independent Booksellers (NCIBA) Book of the Year for Middle Grade Fiction. It is also an honor book for the Indie Book of the Year for Middle Grade Fiction. In fact, this month I was invited to attend a luncheon at Book Expo America (BEA) for Book of the Year Winners and Honor Book Authors. I am so jazzed! Indies rock!!!
I also heard that If a Tree Falls at Lunch Period is a Maud Hart Lovelace nominee. Thank you, Minnesota!
This summer I get to speak at two of my very favorite conferences for writers.
Book Passage Children’s Writers Conference
SCBWI/ LA Conference
Lastly, the new novel No Passengers Beyond This Point is for sure, double sure, triple sure due out from Dial in February 2011. As soon as I get an okay from my editor, I will post the cover for this novel! Stay tuned! |
